In the summer edition of CRT’s email newsletter, we highlight the upcoming Meals on Wheels Golf Classic that will be held on Monday, Sept. 13 at Tunxis Country Club in Farmington, Conn. This golf course was also the host for CRT’s 11th annual Tee Off with Women golf event benefiting CRT’s Women’s Empowerment Center in Hartford.

The newsletter also points readers to sign-up details for the next session of CRT’s Financial Literacy Institute. Registration for that class is taking place until August 9.

In their featured segment “Jobs for CT”, news anchor Mark Zinni from WFSB News Channel 3 highlighted CRT’s need for a Budget Specialist in the Finance Department.

This individual must be knowledgeable in accounting, budgeting, financial trend analysis and reporting. Additionally, responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of budget documents for grant applications, budget revisions and business projects.

Visit the Careers page on CRT’s website to apply now.

Through the CRT Meals on Wheels Golf Classic Program Book, our goal is to gain as much exposure as possible for our partnering businesses.

  • During the dinner program, special recognition is given to businesses and other sponsors who placed ads.
  • A list of advertisers and sponsors is placed on our website and social media.
  • The CRT Meals on Wheels Golf Classic Program Book has a wide distribution, providing targeted business exposure. During the event, every participant in the tournament, as well as those who attend the networking hour and dinner, will receive a copy of the Program Book.
  • Following the event, the CRT Meals on Wheels Golf Classic Program Book is mailed with a personal letter from Lena Rodriguez, CRT’s President and CEO, encouraging recipients to support businesses that have participated in our annual fundraiser.

The mailing list includes:

  • CRT donors
  • CRT vendors
  • Elected officials in the 40 towns in CRT’s service delivery area in Central Connecticut
  • CRT Partners: 90 non-profits, 31 for-profits, 24 faith-based organizations, 10 school districts

We can help design your ad, and you are welcome to keep the file to use for other advertising opportunities if you choose.

The weekday call-in show “Where We Live” on Connecticut Public Radio (WNPR) featured a replay of a program from this past spring about “financial literacy.”

The show includes a conversation with CRT’s Director of Community Services, Elizabeth Horton Sheff, who discussed the opportunity to sign up for CRT’s annual Financial Literacy Institute. The next course will begin in September.

During this free, 14-week online course, participants (age 18 and over) can educate themselves about tough topics in their personal financial world, including: budgeting, saving, credit, investing and more!

Applications for this year’s Financial Literacy Institute are due by August 9, 2021.

Interested students can sign up online now.
