Food  Assistance

Hungry? CRT Can Help Find Healthy Food

CRT has food programs to help individuals and families throughout Central Connecticut.

CRT Resource Centers distribute up to three days of food to individuals and families. Call to see if food is available. Contact one of CRT’s Resource Centers for more information about our Food Pantries.

Foodshare hosts mobile distribution sites located throughout the greater Hartford area. Please click the Mobile Foodshare link to see a map of all distribution sites open to the public.

Online Grocery Purchase is Now Available with SNAP: As of June 2, 2020, individuals can now use their SNAP benefits available on their EBT debit-type card to purchase eligible food items online for delivery or curbside pickup at participating food retailers.​ For more information, please view the SNAP details from the state of Connecticut.

Senior Community Cafés offer lunch to people 60 years or older, as well as their spouses or caretakers. Cafés are located in Hartford, and Tolland counties. Most are open Monday through Friday. Click  Senior Cafés for more information about our Community Cafes, or call 860-560-5828.

Meals on Wheels are available to medically home-bound seniors living in Central Connecticut. Hot, nutritious meals can be delivered right to your home. Click Meals on Wheels for more information about this program, or call 860-560-5828.

See if you are eligible for SNAP benefits

CRT’s SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Outreach is available to anyone living on a low or fixed income that is currently living in Hartford County or Middlesex County. SNAP can put more food on your table! Find out more about CRT’s SNAP Outreach Program.
