IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE PAYING YOUR HOME HEATING BILLS, TURN TO CRT FOR HELP.
CRT can help you complete the application – by phone, email or in-person at our multi-service center in Hartford and Middletown.
Many of us are worried about those home-heating bills! Do you know how you will pay to heat your home this year? Will you have the resources to do so?
If you are worried about how you will pay these big monthly expenses, CRT may be able to assist you with your home-heating costs!
Now is the time to apply for the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program with help from CRT.
HOUSEHOLDS CAN APPLY USING THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS:
- Dial 860-560-5800 (where you can reach the automated attendant and select the option to create an appointment)
- Call 211 (Info-line)
- Dial your local town Social Services Office if you reside outside the Greater Hartford area
- Customers can also complete an online application on www.ct.gov/heatinghelp/applyonline and from the DSS website
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM DATES:
September 1, 2023
First day for a household to apply for the program.
November 1, 2023
First day for fuel deliveries that can be paid by the program.
April 1, 2024
Deadline for fuel authorizations or deliveries.
May 31, 2024
Last day that a household can apply to establish its eligibility for benefits.
June 17, 2024
Last day to submit deliverable fuel bills.

Operation Fuel
CRT also accepts applications for Operation Fuel. If eligible, this program can provide year-round emergency energy assistance for low to moderate-income households. This program also offers assistance with repair/replacement of older furnaces, boilers, and water heaters.
TO APPLY
Eligibility is based on household size, income, and assets. The utility must be billed in the name of an adult member of the household. Our staff speaks both Spanish and English.

Please note that our East Hartford location has relocated to the Larson Center at 81 Woodlawn Circle in East Hartford.
Additionally, the Bloomfield office is in a new building at the same address: Alvin & Beatrice Wood Human Services Center, 330 Park Avenue, Bloomfield, CT. The Energy Office is located on the second floor in the Social Services Office.
