Do you struggle to pay your mortgage each month? Are you making partial payments, or relying on a “grace period”? Are you unemployed, or working fewer hours? Don’t wait until it’s too late!

Residents of Hartford and Middlesex Counties can get help to avoid home foreclosure. There are no income restrictions, and you do not need to have a foreclosure notice to find out what options may be available to you.

CRT Housing Counselors can help you work with your lender, and possibly lower your monthly payments.

We can help you understand your options, assist with the application, and monitor the process. Here are some of the options that we can explore together:

  • Modify Your Loan  – You may be able to lower your monthly mortgage payments.
  • Refinance  Your Home – You may be able to refinance your home, even if you’ve been turned down in the past.
  • Manage “Underwater” Loans – If you owe more than your property is worth, you may be able to lower your principal balance.
  • Assist Unemployed Homeowners – You may be eligible for assistance targeted specifically to unemployed people.
  • Exit Your Home – You may be able to move into affordable housing, without going through foreclosure.
