The Retreat Assisted-Living in Hartford is now making small group gatherings available to their senior members (for the first time in a year since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic!), and that includes use of the internet cafe room for table games, like Jenga!

We invited Hartford Courant photographer Mark Mirko to come see the action for himself last Friday. He got an amazing shot that ran on the FRONT PAGE of the Courant this past weekend!

On Friday, January 15, more than 100 residents and staff at CRT’s unique assisted-living facility in Hartford, The Retreat, received their 1st dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in a special clinic with Walgreen’s that went door to door to administer this special “Shot of Hope.”

NBC Connecticut was there to see this milestone event:

CRT’s Communications Director, Jason Black, joined morning host Gary Byron (shown above) on the Talk of Connecticut (WDRC 1360 AM) to share multiple updates about CRT programs and services, including:

  • The new Community Asset Building Initiative (CABI) partnership program with Liberty Bank to help people in Hartford and Middlesex Counties achieve the dream of home ownership.
  • The CT Energy Assistance Program and how to apply for help.
  • CRT’s unique assisted-living facility, The Retreat, for low-income seniors age 65 and over. A few apartments are available now.

Give a listen over on Facebook to find out more.

CRT is collecting 100 holiday wreaths – one for EVERY senior living at CRT’s The Retreat assisted-living facility in Hartford – to help bring a little more joy to all of the residents during the holidays.

Keisha Grant and Mike Hydeck from NBC Connecticut share the story and explain how YOU can help create a true “Festival of Wreaths” this year! Check it out!
