WFSB checked in with CRT Director of Nutrition, Nancy Isa on the affect of the heat wave on the Meals on Wheels program, specifically delivery to seniors.

Senator Richard Blumenthal held a press conference at CRT’s East Hartford Shelter to announce the Congressional Directed Spending Grant for renovations at the facility.  East Hartford Mayor Mike Walsh joined CRT’s Vice President Chris McCluskey.

CRT Summer Food Service Program joined Senator Chris Murphy for a press conference at the House of Restoration Church on 7/28/23.  The press conference was to highlight the importance of the Summer Food Service Program and tour a distribution facility.

 

WTIC/FOX 61 interview with CRT’s Director of Nutrition, Nancy Isa focusing on the Summer Food Service Program.  CRT’s Summer Food Service Program begins in June and runs through the summer.  CRT prepares and delivers breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under at 12 locations in Hartford and Central Connecticut.

Mr. Green fell on hard times a few years ago and found himself homeless. He is now receiving services from CRT to get back on his feet and has a roof over his head. He recently received a donated car that he says this is a life-changing gift.

The Subaru Share the Love Event is back for 2022-2023! As part of a national partnership with Meals on Wheels America, Subaru of America, Inc. will donate $250 to the purchaser’s choice of participating charities – one of which is Meals on Wheels – for every new vehicle purchased or leased from November 17, 2022, through January 3, 2023. Since the Subaru Share the Love Event began in 2008, Subaru and its participating retailers have donated nearly 4 million meals and friendly visits to seniors being served by local Meals on Wheels programs across the country.
