Community Builders Helping Us Celebrate

Eric Coleman, Connecticut State Senator
State Senator Eric D. Coleman began serving the Second Senatorial District in January, 1995 before serving in the State House of Representatives from 1983 to 1994. Sen. Coleman was instrumental in helping CRT with many projects including the creation of the Generations Campus community that houses grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. In addition, a CRT Head Start Center in Bloomfield bears his name to honor his dedication to high quality early care and education.
Elsa Nuñez, President, Eastern Connecticut State University
In August 2012, Dr. Elsa M. Núñez began her seventh year as president of Eastern Connecticut State University.  Dr. Núñez has forged closer ties with the local community, led a campus-wide strategic planning process and shepherded the openings of new centers and facilities that have taken the university to new heights. Prior to joining Eastern, Dr. Núñez had more than 20 years of experience as a senior administrator in higher education in Maine, Massachusetts, and New York.
Mark Maselli, President/CEO, Community Health Center
Working with a small group of other Wesleyan University students and community activists, Mark Maselli founded Community Health Center, Inc. as a Free Clinic in 1972. He has taken leadership roles in many other Middletown health and human service initiatives, including New Horizons Battered Women’s Shelter, Nehemiah Housing Corporation, and Oddfellows Playhouse. He served on the Board of the Community Action for Greater Middlesex County before that organization merged with CRT in 1999.
