Energy & Weatherization

Lower the cost of heating your home with help from CRT

The CRT Energy Assistance program helps pay heating bills for low and and middle income renters and homeowners.

Weatherization helps reduce heat and utility costs by making homes more energy efficient. CRT works with renters and homeowners of all income levels. Our programs help many Connecticut households every year. Contact us to find out if we can help you with your heating costs.

Please note: If you heat with a deliverable fuel such as oil, propane, wood or coal, DSS has extended the last day to request a delivery from your energy benefit to Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Use the link below to contact the Energy Assistance team.

Connecticut residents who need help paying their home heating bills for the 2017/2018 winter season, should note that there is still time to apply for assistance under the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program. The general deadline for applications is May 1, 2018, however eligible households that are subject to a shut-off notice by a utility for heating bills have an extended deadline of May 15.

“My dad got really sick a couple years back. We contacted CRT, and found he qualified for home improvements. This was like a new beginning—a fresh start— as my dad gets his health back. We couldn’t be happier.”
