CRT’s 50th Anniversary Gala

Supports Housing for Aging Veterans

CRT thanks all who made our 50th Anniversary Gala such a success. For half a century, CRT has helped the communities of Central Connecticut address tough issues such as hunger, housing, health, education, employment, safety, and cultural connection.

Proceeds of the Gala will support Veterans Landing, an affordable assisted living residence which CRT is building in Newington, CT for low and moderate-income veterans and their spouses. This will be one of the first developments of its kind in the nation!

Keynote speaker was Mark Kennedy Shriver, son of Sargent Shriver, the architect of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty, which led to the creation of community action agencies, as well as Head Start, VISTA and many other vital programs.
