Services
CRT’s Weatherization program assists low-income renters and home owners in making their residences energy efficient, lowering the expense of utility bills.
The following basic services are provided:
• Installation of weather stripping and door sweeps on doors
• Interior caulking of windows and doors
• Installation of low flow showerheads
and aerators
• Insulation of attics, sidewalls, and basement ceilings
• Insulation of hot water heater tanks
• Repair of windows and primary doors
• Cleaning, tuning, testing and repairing of
heating systems
• Replacement of incandescent lighting with fluorescent lighting
• Installation of Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, clients must be currently
enrolled in one of the following programs:
- The Connecticut Energy
Assistance Program (CEAP)
- TANF
- Utility Assistance program
(gas & electric)
Application Process
Applications for Weatherization services
are mailed to eligible Energy Assistance
households. Eligible renter households must also have their landlord’s permission form
filled out and returned.
