Weatherization Residential Assistance Program (WRAP) |
ServicesThe WRAP program helps low-income customers (renters or owners) with conservation services that safely lower electrical use, reduce home heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, conserve hot water, and provide for energy efficient lighting. The program provides a wide range of energy conservation measures based on a needs analysis conducted by trained energy conservation staff. Client education services related to energy conservation are also provided. WRAP is a partnership among CL&P, Connecticut Natural Gas, Yankee Gas Services, the state of Connecticut, CRT and other Community Action Agencies. |
Eligibility RequirementsThis weatherization program is free for eligible customers who use more than 2,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity a year. Households with an income of up to 200% of the federal poverty level qualify. |
Application ProcessCL&P solicits applications and determines eligibility for WRAP Services, then generates work orders to CRT to complete. To sign up for WRAP services, call the WRAP Unit at 1-800-388-9727, and a representative will send you an application for service. |
Service Hours and LocationsWRAP services are provided at the customer’s residence. |
