Services

The CRT Project T.E.A.C.H. (Training Employment and Community Housing) program provides housing subsidies and supportive management services to 20 homeless single adults originating from homeless shelters, street or uninhabitable environment in the Greater Hartford Region. This program incorporates case management, life skills training, employment education, substance abuse counseling, mental health counseling, money management and more. Clients participate in the program for two years, at which point they graduate and stay in apartments or move to other permanent housing.

 

Eligibility Requirements

Clients must be 18 years of age or older, residing in a shelter or center at the time of referral. Clients must be:
- Working with shelter case manager
- In compliance with shelter rules
- Willing to follow the program’s rigorous requirements
- Be eligible to have utilities and phone turned on in their name and
- Willing and able to work
- Be able to pay a program fee that is 30% of their income

 

Application Process

Clients are referred to program by shelter or center caseworker.
