Summer Youth Employment and Learning Program |
ServicesThe Summer Youth Employment and Learning Program (SYELP) engages youth in meaningful experiences that prepare them for the world of work. Youth learn employability, leadership and work-maturity skills necessary to obtain and maintain employment. Youth explore a variety of career opportunities to gain a better understanding of the necessary skills and education levels needed to secure a position within their field of interest. A new year-round program will do the same thing in Middletown, but run for a full year. |
Eligibility RequirementsYouth must be between the ages of 14 and 21 and reside in the City of Hartford. |
Application ProcessApplications are made available in area school guidance offices. Generally the program runs for 6 weeks starting in July and ending in early August. Capital Workforce Partners processes the applications, selects the participants and assigns them to CRT for placement. Applicants must apply to: Capital Workforce Partners |
Service Hours and LocationsProgram participants are placed at various CRT sites including the Family Service Centers, Early Care and Education classrooms, Youth Art and Technology Center and other sites. For more information about the program, contact Youth Services at 560-5377 |
