Grocery Delivery Program for Seniors

Services

Elders living in Greater Hartford can have groceries delivered to their homes twice each month, without paying a delivery fee. The program will deliver everything that is normally found on supermarket shelves. Delivery staff will bring the bags directly into the customers' homes. Funding is provided through the North Central Area Agency on Aging.

TWO DELIVERIES PER MONTH

This program covers the delivery costs for two grocery orders per month. Each order must total at least $40. Additional orders (more than twice per month) will be charged $10.50 for delivery. Drivers bring groceries into the home or apartment.

Customers receive a weekly circular, and place their orders by phone. The market confirms total cost and delivery date.

Payment must be made by credit card, check or exact change; no change is available from the driver. Coupons may be used, but they will be deducted from the next order.

Customers are asked to donate $1 per delivery, or whatever they can afford. However, no one is denied if unable to pay.

Service Hours and Locations

Deliveries are available in the towns of Bloomfield, Farmington, Hartford, New Britain, Wethersfield and Windsor. Most deliveries are made on weekdays.
