Hartford Grandfamily Housing Development

Hartford Grandfamily Housing Development, an affordable rental property, is one of the first of its kind to be built in the state. It is located in the City of Hartford’s Northeast Neighborhood and consists of 40 rental apartments with two sections; one for grandparents raising their grandchildren and the other for seniors. Case management, recreation and other programming is offered on-site for grandparents with legal custody of their grandchildren.

Eligibility Requirements

All applicants have to be income qualified and a U.S. citizen, national or eligible non-citizen. Applicants in the Grandfamily Section must have legal custody of their grandchildren and seniors must be 62 years of age.

Those interested in living at Grandfamily Housing should contact Broad-Park Development Corporation, the Property Management Organization. Please phone (860) 249-0649 to start the process. Eligible persons will be placed on a waiting list until an apartment that meet a specific household’s needs becomes available.
