Weaver Senior Wins Underage Drinking Video Contest
Prom Night Reality Show is prize from local coalition

The Healthy Teen Hartford Coalition to Stop Underage Drinking will surprise the winner of its first Prom Nite Video Contest at her track team practice on Thursday, April 23 at 3 p.m. Angela Dunham, a senior at Weaver High School, submitted the winning one-minute video answering the question:  “How alcohol can ruin my prom and possibly my future.” As the winner, Angela will receive a free limo ride to her prom, and will star (with three friends) in a professionally-filmed Prom Night Reality Show which will air on television and the internet.

CRT’s Healthy Teen Hartford Coalition to Stop Underage Drinking sponsored this contest to raise students’ interest in continuing their education and participating in sober activities.  Mega Education co-sponsored the contest, called the “Get Ya Mind Right” Prom Nite Video Contest.

High School Seniors from each of the City of Hartford public high schools were invited to submit one minute videos, which were judged on creativity and how well they communicated messages that will stop underage drinking. Judges included three members of the community coalition and two professional public relations videographers.
