Community Renewal Team, Inc. (CRT) seeks a highly committed, innovative leader to be the Director of Early Care and Education (ECE). CRT is fully dedicated to supporting the basic needs of low-income, is advantaged individuals and families. This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior executive with expertise in managing Head Start and Early Care and Education programs to bring his/her skills to a well respected, highly effective, mission-driven organization. The successful candidate will broaden CRT's reach and impact by leading the programmatic initiatives of the agency that are committed to serving families and children, and to its mission of"Preparing our Community to Meet Life's Challenges."

Founded in 1963 to help families break the cycle of poverty, CRT has grown dramatically in size, scope, and outreach over the years. The organization as a whole now employs approximately 1,000 people and its annual operating budget has risen from its initial grant of $75,000 to over
$70 million. As a private, non-profit agency, CRT relies on funding from federal, state, local, private grants, and various fundraising efforts. CRT provides more than 30 critical anti-poverty programs in over 59 cities and towns throughout Hartford and Middlesex counties.

Early Care and Education (ECE) serves a critical role in providing the foundation for healthy and productive lives for Hartford's most underserved, at-risk children. The Early Care and Education division of CRT is the largest department with a current staff of 350 and a budget of $15 million. ECE's core components which include Head Start, School Readiness, and Child Day Care provide educational and child-care services to approximately 1,400 children from ages 0-5 years-old.
